Lifelines is the name of a project that was part of a larger consortium of work supported by Esme Fairburn Foundation and gave the Health and Arts groups around the North East an opportunity to work together.
Until January 21st 2016 there is an exhibition of the work done by Phoenix Art Group and the other Health and Arts groups at Tyne Mouth Rail Station. The exhibition will then be split some going to Hartlepool town centre and the rest staying further north.
Phoenix Art Group participants made suitcases from cardboard and used them to house personal approaches to living, fantasies and ideas, mental wellbeing and stuff that just makes you happy. Pictured is one of the suitcases telling the story of a Hare that travels the world sharing her experiences, challenges and exchanges.
Eight people took part in this and their feedback was very positive… ‘It gave us a chance to reflect on our lives’ ‘I knew I was going to like this as soon as the idea came up’ ‘It is important to have a directed outlet for things and this works really well’ ‘I liked to see what other had done and I found it cleansing’
